Dear Union Brothers and Sisters:

The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) is conducting their annual NALC National Food Drive on Saturday, May 9, 2009. The U.S. Postal Service, AFL_CIO, United Way of AMerica, NALC and America's Second Harvest are national co-sponsors of this event.

Blue plastic bags will be delivered to your homes for you to put non-perishable food items in them. Then you leave it next to mailboxes and the letter carriers do the rest. The food donations will be sorted and packed to stock the shelves of Hawaii's food banks.

The Hawaii State AFL-CIO and Labor's Community Services Program of Hawaii will again assist in this event and are looking for volunteers to help sort and pack donations. For more information, please contact the following United Way coordinators:
